Overview: This course takes a step-by-step approach to the tasks and methods involved in conducting a new Systematic Review to answer a question about the effects of an intervention.
Topics include:
- Define the research question to inform the scope of the review
- Plan the methods
- Setting eligibility criteria for including studies in the review
- Selecting outcomes to be addressed for studies included in the review
- Search for studies
- Select eligible studies
- Collect data
- Assess the risk of bias in included studies
- Practical session: Literature search, screening studies, data extraction, risk of bias assessment
- Conduct meta-analysis
- Summarize the findings and make conclusions
- Write the full review
