Designing, conducting and reporting Observational studies: A step by step approach
Much of clinical knowledge comes from observational research. About nine of ten research papers published in clinical specialty journals describe observational research. The three main types of observational studies are cohort, case-control and cross-sectional studies. Conducting and reporting of observational studies is often of insufficient quality.

There are major steps that one must navigate successfully to take a study idea and turn it into a publication that may have an impact on clinical practice. These steps include developing the study question, developing the study plan, implementing the study plan, reporting the results and submitting the manuscript for publication. This workshop takes each of these steps and expands on its important components. Who should attend:
- Postgraduates who are planning for a Master, Doctorate or PhD degree in Medicine, Dentistry, or Clinical Pharmacy.
- Faculty members (Lecturers, Associate Professors and Professors) who are involved in supervising, conducting and publishing observational studies.
- Interns (A recent graduate or a student undergoing supervised practical training)

Workshop registration fees is 150 LE and must be paid no later than 7 calendar days after we notify you of acceptance to the workshop. We reserve the right to cancel your acceptance if fees are not submitted by the deadline. The workshop fees cover participation in the workshop, workshop materials, coffee breaks and a certificate of attendance.
